Free with every e-bike

Two ways to get your Dirwin

Local bike shop assembly is included in the price, and so is shipping to your door. You pick which one you want at checkout — there is no wrong answer and no extra cost either way.

Ship it to my doorIncluded

Your e-bike arrives at your address in a box, mostly assembled. Final setup takes about 30 minutes with the tool kit in the box.

  • Arrives 3 to 5 days after it ships
  • You attach the front wheel, handlebar, pedals and seat
  • Quick-start guide and assembly video included
  • Best if you are comfortable with basic tools

One exception: the Caravan 2 cargo bike is a bigger build. Allow 1 to 2 hours if you assemble it yourself. We recommend local bike shop assembly for that model.

Step by step

How local assembly works

Seven steps, and only three of them need anything from you.

  1. Step 1 Add your bike to the cart

Pick your model and color, add it to the cart, and head to checkout as usual.

  2. Step 2 Enter your shipping address

Once you enter your address at checkout, a list of nearby bike shops appears alongside the standard home delivery option.

  3. Step 3 Choose a local bike shop

Select whichever shop you prefer. For the smoothest experience, look for one labelled Dirwin Preferred Dealer — those shops already know our bikes. Prefer home delivery? Just leave the standard shipping option selected instead.

  4. Step 4 Get your order confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email from us as soon as the order is placed.

  5. Step 5 We coordinate with the shop

Within 24 to 48 hours our team contacts the shop you chose to confirm they can take the build. If they cannot, we find another shop nearby and keep you posted the whole way through so you never have to chase anyone.

  6. Step 6 Your bike ships to the shop

Once the shop confirms, we ship your e-bike straight to them and send you the tracking number.

  7. Step 7 The shop calls you when it is ready

The shop assembles and safety-checks your bike, then contacts you by phone or email. This is typically within a week of delivery. Turn up, ride away. There is nothing to pay at pickup.

No catch

What free assembly actually covers

The short version: a professional builds your e-bike, and Dirwin picks up the bill.

You pay nothing extra

Shop assembly normally runs $150 to $300. Dirwin pays the shop directly, and we make sure they are paid before your bike is released so there is never a bill waiting at pickup.

Built and safety-checked by a pro

A qualified mechanic assembles the bike, torques every fastener, trues the wheels and tests the brakes and electronics before it goes out the door.

Ready in about a week

Most shops have the bike built and ready within a week of it arriving. They contact you directly by phone or email the moment it is done.

Shops across the country

We work with independent bike shops nationwide. If the shop you picked cannot take the job, we arrange another one nearby and keep you updated.

Choosing a shop

What "Dirwin Preferred Dealer" means

Any shop in the checkout list can assemble your bike. Shops marked Dirwin Preferred Dealer go one step further — they stock our parts, know our models, and have worked with us before, so builds tend to move faster and any follow-up is easier.

The other shops in the list are there for your convenience. They are capable bike mechanics, but they are not Dirwin dealers, and we do not imply any partnership with them.

Frequently asked

Assembly questions, answered

Is local assembly really free?

Yes. Assembly at a local bike shop normally costs $150 to $300, and Dirwin covers it in full. You pay the price on the product page and nothing else — there is no assembly fee at checkout and nothing to pay at the shop when you collect the bike.

Do I have to use a bike shop, or can it come to my house?

Completely your choice, and both options are free. If you would rather have the bike delivered to your address, simply leave the standard shipping option selected at checkout instead of picking a shop. Home delivery arrives in a box, mostly assembled, with the tools and instructions you need to finish the setup.

What if there is no bike shop near me?

If no participating shop appears for your address at checkout, your bike ships to your door instead — still free. Nothing goes wrong and nothing is held up; you simply get the home delivery option.

How much longer does assembly take?

Plan on about a week on top of normal shipping. We confirm with the shop within 24 to 48 hours of your order, ship the bike to them, and most shops have it built within a week of delivery. They contact you directly as soon as it is ready.

What happens if the shop I picked cannot do it?

We handle it. If the shop you selected is unavailable, our team finds another shop nearby, confirms with them, and keeps you updated throughout. You do not need to call anyone or reorder.

Will the shop ask me for money at pickup?

No. We pay the shop before your e-bike is released for collection, so there is nothing owing when you arrive. If a shop ever asks you for an assembly payment, contact us at customerservice@dirwinbike.com before paying anything.

Is the assembly shop an official Dirwin dealer?

Only if it is listed on our Dealer Locator or shown as a "Dirwin Preferred Dealer" at checkout. The other shops in the list are independent bike shops offering assembly as a convenience; they are not authorised Dirwin dealers and we do not imply any partnership with them.

Does using a local shop affect my warranty?

No. Your Dirwin warranty is unchanged whether the bike is built by a shop or by you at home. Warranty claims are handled by Dirwin directly — contact customerservice@dirwinbike.com and we will take it from there.

Disclaimer: The local bike shop options presented during the checkout process are provided for customer convenience in arranging assembly services.
